As an Associate Manager, you will serve in an entry-level leadership role designed to develop future Operations Managers within Specialized Field Services. You will gain leadership experience through employee development, safety leadership, customer engagement, operational support, business process ownership, ERP stewardship, financial accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will lead through influence, accountability, collaboration, and ethical decision-making while supporting technicians, customers, and organizational objectives. Leadership will provide mentorship and coaching, while you retain ownership of assigned responsibilities and performance outcomes.

Safety Leadership

  • Model a Safety-First culture and reinforce Stop Work Authority at all times.
  • Conduct site visits and field observations, coach employees on safe and effective work practices, and monitor safety compliance and training requirements.
  • Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and corporate safety initiatives and programs.

Customer Support and Operational Leadership

  • Support customer relationships through proactive, professional communication and quality execution; participate in customer meetings and project kickoffs as assigned.
  • Respond promptly to customer requests, concerns, and escalations, communicate project status and issue resolution, and support technicians in delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Support field personnel with technical questions and operational challenges, coordinating with engineering and other cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Support operational initiatives and KPI execution, reinforce team accountability, and improve consistency and operational performance.

Financial Accountability

  • Promote cost awareness, profitability, and responsible use of company resources across assigned teams.
  • Support accurate labor reporting and project coding; monitor assigned projects for missed billable opportunities and identify and escalate billing leakage concerns.
  • Review credit card expenses for accuracy and business justification, support timely expense reporting and approvals, and reinforce purchasing and spending expectations.

ERP Compliance and Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain proficiency in company ERP systems and business platforms, and promote their consistent use across assigned teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of labor, expense, operational, and project information; maintain data integrity, reporting accuracy, and audit-ready records.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities, recommend system and workflow enhancements, and support implementation of organizational improvements.
  • Complete assigned timecard, PTO, and expense approvals promptly and in accordance with company policies.

SFS Leadership will establish annual performance expectations and KPIs based on current business needs and organizational priorities. Success will be evaluated across the following areas:

Safety: Safety performance and observations, training and certification compliance, and completion of corrective actions.

Employee Development: Technician progression, coaching effectiveness, engagement, retention, succession development, and weekly technician communication.

Customer Satisfaction: Customer feedback, responsiveness, effective issue resolution, and communication quality.

Process Compliance: Timely timecard, PTO, and expense approvals, policy compliance, and accurate documentation.

Financial Accountability: Credit card compliance, labor and expense reporting accuracy, cost and profitability awareness, and reduction of billing leakage.

ERP and Continuous Improvement: System utilization and compliance, data quality, process improvement contributions, and operational efficiency.

Support and Career Development

The Director of Specialized Field Services, Operations Managers, SFS Coordinators, cross-functional business partners, and organizational mentors provide coaching, guidance, development, and support. Responsibility for execution, performance, and results remains with the Associate Manager.

This role provides a developmental pathway toward Operations Manager, senior operations leadership, regional leadership, and cross-functional leadership opportunities. Promotion consideration occurs between 12 and 24 months based on demonstrated leadership capability, business performance, employee development, organizational impact, and readiness for expanded responsibilities.
